With really weird things happening to journalism, I see people turning to substacks or other newsletters (often paid). But I can't find anyone talking about how libraries can provide access to (or preserve) these resources. Anyone having these discussions?
Also, AI is only as good as the dataset. But if soon, everything is created by AI, then AI training data will also be AI generated! You see the problem?

NLP has been a thing for years before chatGPT. If you really needed AI in your software you’d have heard about it before it blew up. Is it just great marketing to get people to train data models by the big corporations? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

I’m not anti-AI at all, but it’s a tool.
Would you use a flamethrower to light a candle, just because it’s cool? Use the right tool for the job and if you don’t need AI, you don’t have to use AI just to be cool. Save some trees, write your own emails!
