I wasn't ignoring you... but diigo decided to die after 15 years. It was a nail biter to get my 18 years of data out of there. Hope your event went smoothly!
So. Much. Winning.
Preach.
I've got some things tucked away in my diigo, I'll DM you a link in case anything seems relevant
that was meant to read - all intelligence says no. Blerg.
This admin wants you to forget about anything historic - everything is better now, b/c as far as they're concerned, the only thing from before was other people's failure. Iran is about to bomb the US w/ nukes-all intelligence. Trump still projects that picture as if it's fact. Wild.
I saw that yesterday and was like... is AI also their quality control, because - Just, no.

Today I presented at #WEMTA about the TPS-Midwest grant that I did in my local area. Presenting in WI: 10 people in the audience knew a Laufenberg. I was able to include pictures from the WI Hist. Soc. of a 4 generations photo of my Gram & a studio photo of my 3x Great Grandpa titled 'Men with Beer'
A big audience for Author V.T. Bidania (www.vtbidania.com) here at #WEMTA. She's talking about the importance of representation in children's books and sharing lovely stories and how they've impacted kids.
Right?!? I'm back presenting this year and thought you would appreciate this.
Attention @technolibrary.bsky.social
Yikes, indeed.
Oof
Meanwhile in WI - 6" of fresh snow! Probably means an early pollen season, thoughts and prayers.
I think of @scalzi.com and the Interdependency series often... On top of having absolutely memorable characters - this sense that the rich will run the train right off the cliff if they have a way to survive with their wealth. Everyone else be damned.
Continuing on my posts about the power of local history as a part of our classroom experiences - It's this kind of experience that can bridge the space between the abstract nature of history and the real. #sschat #edusky www.chalkbeat.org/2026/02/19/s...
Continuing on with the shares - a second TPS Consortium partner shared out the Educating with Evidence Project - GIS and Primary Sources are featured. Interactive Units are available. educatingwithevidence.siu.edu #sschat #edusky

People are looking for someone to blame. They struck out again. It's all so frustrating.
I think it's going to have to be something like-all the white folks vote early (in my area, by mail) and then we go to urban locations (w/in driving distance) that will be heavily targeted and line the sidewalks, escort voters. It's wildly disturbing to think about needing to go to those lengths.
Or not. Deep sigh.
Salt works above 15ยฐ... I'm guessing there is just a lack of salt trucks and salt. That's how we'd get out of that problem. Sounds dreadful
Did the main roads fare any better?
Was there any pre-treating of the roads prior to the storm?
Should you need a distraction in your day - I offer up a History of Groundhog's Day - There's a book of Groundhog Carol's and everything. blogs.loc.gov/folklife/202... #sschat #edusky
Ok, Harvard - Are *you* bad at math or do you think a wage difference of $50,000 and $50,500 is life changing? There are reasons to be concerned about literacy/numeracy levels in the US, but the ability to make $500 more per year over a lifetime of work isn't it. news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...
Working with a lovely group of administrators in Kentucky to dig into continued challenges with their schedules for the upcoming school year - Staff retention, dropping enrollment and reduced funding are all factors causing the need to creative solutions. Let the problem solving begin!
Yeah - The innovation is to do more, faster - but not better. Blerg.
