not that it'll change literally anything I do but wondering what art I've done that's annoyed people. like hater respect hating. like the same way I smacktalk artists who spend their whole career drawing nintendo girls or who keep drawing skinny characters with beachball asses.

I might be becoming a little old, but with all of the stories I have read, movies I watched an series I've binged I am becoming more and more disappointed by stories that do nothing else, but instruct you of its own world, not aiming to say anything at all but the most boring of and naive of truths.
The first thing I learn about in every other ttrpg setting is their pantheon. Oh gee, I wonder if we will have a trial with the God of Law, or if the God of Trickery might swindle us. Imagine all the hijinks that might, maybe, could ensue, 200 hours in, right after we fight off orc invasion #6.
There's a laziness that's taken over where everything is an order removed, stories are preoccupied with evoking that they are *like stories*, gesturing towards what it wants to eventually be and making sure you're aware that's what it's going to do.

It's just death by a thousand cuts. Paint Tool SAI was my big test but I found a guide using Bottles, then had to find drivers and disable its backups. It works, but degraded. Now multiply that across everything, paying the Linux tax. I code for a living, opening the terminal at home is *annoying*.
would still be mostly happily living in win7 if not for discord killing it for good on monday and the news of win12: rent-seeker's edition is just an extra kick in the teeth
Really was ready to turn into a smug linuxhead but my initial experiences playing with Mint have just been really annoying, and faced with the prospect of having to play the compatibility dance every single time I run something new has me muttering deranged shit like "maybe windows 11 isn't so bad"
not like it's a produced thing, she had to go to the gem radioshack and put all this together

And I'm generally pretty content with my work vs that collective, to the point that when I see art that impresses me my first instinct is to think: I can't wait to steal this! but then it means when I spy one of those shortcuts it's like. oh. I can't plan this, I'd have to fundamentally change first
Every time I draw Violet or Juniper I think I've finally fought against my default anatomy muscle memory of just drawing a skinny white woman and then about two weeks later I look back at it and realize she needs to become even smaller. constantly fighting to achieve a woman who is two apples tall.
biggest symptom of my perfectionist habits is when I look at others' art and see mistakes or shortcuts that look perfectly innocuous, or even charming!, but that I would have never allowed myself to get away with in my own drawing.
Pearl handing Steven a bill, saying, "Oh, Steven, here. Purchase yourself and Connie some of that popped corn for the movie." To which Steven responds, "Wow, thanks!" Then a second panel depicting Steven asking Pearl, "Wait, where did this come from? Did you get a job?" To which Pearl nervously responds, "Oh, uh, yes?"
A couple of transition panels culminating in Sapphire sitting beside a radio holding a lottery ticket, surrounded by perfect scratch cards, cash money, and a trio of gold bars.
