The EU is pushing for significant deregulation, under the guise of "simplification". They are planning to chip away at one vital environmental law at a time. Once lost, these protections rarely return.

Fox hunting with hounds is barbaric and cruel. It has no place in modern Ireland.
Please take two minutes to copy-and-paste a quick email to all those TDs who voted no to a ban last month.

We will never stop fighting for foxes.
The most beautiful kind!
Another cute fox cub, this time in profile. The text reads: 'Autumn hunting is currently legal in Ireland, and seen as a vital part of fox hunting. To help end this cruel practice, please follow us and sign up to our newsletter (link in bio).'
The only way we can end this barbaric practice is to join together in a collective and concerted effort. Please sign up to our newsletter for information and instructions for how to make a difference. It will be a simple as sending an email once a month, or strategic sharing on social media.
The text reads: 'Am Irish huntsman explained in 2025: The hounds will be ushered into a carefully-chosen covert, be it a neat field of maize or a steep=sided valley overgrown with gorse and hawthorn, and the few hardcore followers will dispose themselves at strategic points around the edges to encourage both foxes and hounds to remain within'
You don't have to take our word for it.
An image of a mother fox resting her snout on the head of a young fox cub. The text reads: 'Before hunting season gets underway in October, young hounds ust be trained to follow the scent of a fleeing fox. Foxes too, at this time of year, and only young and inexpereinced'.
The need for autumn hunting directly comtradicts an often repeated claim by the hunting lobby that fox hunting with hounds is 'natural'. In facts, the dogs have to be trained to for it. Fox cubs are born in March and April, so they are still quite young in August and Sept, when 'cubbing' is done.
A close-up image of a fluffy young fox cub looking straight at the viewer. The text reads: Cubbing (noun): The hunting of young foxes, especially as a means of training the hounds in autumn. Merriam-Webster dictionary.
Did you know? Cubbing, or autumn hunting of young foxes trains hounds in advance of fox hunting season. This is necessesary for them to learn how to track the scent of the fox. It is a particularly cruel aspect of an already horrific practice.

What a beauty ! Thank you to @allthingsorca.bsky.social for this morning's #FoxOfTheDay , top work !
Please do this today. It doesn't take long but it's important #spΓ©irgorm
Terrifying.
Founded in 1948, @antaisce.bsky.social is Irelandβs oldest environmental charity, now says in all that time, it has never faced a threat to its ability to fulfill its legal functions regarding planning on a par with current government proposals.

Rewild Your Garden by Frances Tophill has lots of great inspiration.
This proposal could significantly change how environmental litigation works in Ireland β and who can afford to bring a case.
Have your say.
Deadline: January 16thΒ 2026 - have your say on greyhound regulations.
"Ban Fox Hunting. I live in rural Ireland and I am vehemently opposed to fox hunting - it is a cruel, barbaric, one-sided excuse for a sportβ - Actor and environmentalist Rachel Pilkington www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=... #Ireland #AnimalCruelty #BanFoxHunting
Beautiful!
The idea "hunts will have to kill their hounds" if trail hunting is banned is absolute crap!
How can we trust politicians who protect the tiny minority who hunt foxes with hounds when the rest of us β 77% of Irish people β want it banned?

Many of our TDs donβt seem to understand that the voters who care about housing, healthcare and inequalities are the same people who care about animals and who want to live in a modern, compassionate Ireland in every sense of the word.
In the UK, the League Against Cruel Sports have found that trail hunting is often used as a smokescreen for hunting live foxes. The UK government are committed to ban it in the near future. 3/3
There is a far lesser risk of this happening in drag hunting, where hounds follow an artificial scent across a pre-planned route, or clean boot hunting, where they follow the scent of a human runner, thereby posing far less danger to wildlife. 2/3
We just want to point out some facts.
Why ban trail hunting? In trail hunting, hounds follow a pre-laid scent of animal urine or a dead animal. In reality, they often pick up the scent of live foxes and end up pursuing and killing them. 1/3
!! Ireland has a unique opportunity to end foxhunting on Dec 17th when the Dail will vote on a proposed ban.
Please contact your TDs and ask them to support a ban.
