These aren't mine and just using as a reference only, but I've seen things like these. So that's my conclusion.

This is including other factors like how Sonic is shaded.

Probably personally i'd call it a flesh line, since it isn't an outline of the head, or face.

I think this curve by the muzzle is just to make Sonic's face look a little more round. Like a bit of extra skin behind the muzzle.

That's why there can be a lot of variations in how it's done since it's a style thing.

The same basis for drawing Sonic without the curve skin part still applies.

It fixes the hip hike finally wow. But probably have to do it a lot to make it permanent.

There was a physio video I saw a while back on inward and outwardly rotated hips/pelvis.

Then that specific area by the hips seemed to be tight, that's why it seems to work now.

I've also been considering trying to do the eyes like Toei Sonic

I wonder if making Sonic's spikes look spikey is more important, probably I'll try using a Sonic figure as a reference.

Basically, the left hip is outwardly rotated and right hip is inwardly rotated. To fix the issue, the left hip needs to get used to inward rotation.
