New paper on education and mortality within married and cohabiting couples in Finland w/ @potentececilia.bsky.social and @marikajalovaara.bsky.social!
Further details on the cumulation of precariousness within couples and historical trends in marriage and dissolution trends are also available!
Results show that savings and employment are the strongest indicators for transitioning into marriage. Employment and financial perceptions (especially when the woman is employed or has bad financial perceptions and the man does not) are important markers for dissolution.
New paper out w/ @ann-berrington.bsky.social l @peibich.bsky.social in PopStudies! Using BHPS and Understanding Society (1991-2019), we examine cohabiting couples' economic barriers to marriage, as well as economic triggers to dissolutions in the UK.
It will happen again in May!
