The 2025 session may be over, but Pride is very much still going. 🏳️🌈
Next Monday, we will finish the work of the 2025 legislative session.
In addition to balancing the budget, DFLers successfully protected nearly all of our 2023 accomplishments, and we will continue to fight for a future where everyone can get ahead – not just billionaires and big corporations.
Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating the holy time of Eid al-Adha!
Four ways DFL leaders have delivered for working Minnesotans
DFL leaders are fighting for you — not for billionaires.
Happy #Pride Month, Minnesota! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
While Trump and extremists try to roll back rights and vilify LGBTQ+ kids and communities, we will continue doing the work to make Minnesota a safe, affirming place for everyone to live and love as their authentic selves.

Today we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. May we work each day to build a nation worthy of their courage and sacrifice.
We declared racism a public health crisis, established the Select Committee on Racial Justice, and enacted many of the committee’s recommendations in the years that followed. We will keep doing everything in our power to prevent the senseless loss of life we witnessed five years ago.
Image that says "In Memory of George Floyd Oct 14, 2973-May 25,2020. Your life still matters." Image includes a photo of Floyd
George Floyd's life mattered & he should still be alive today. After George Floyd was brutally murdered, the House DFL, led by members of the People of Color & Indigenous Caucus, took action to reform policing, protect civil rights & fight for racial justice.
The plan in motion from Donald Trump & his GOP allies in Congress to slash Medicaid & SNAP would be devastating for Minnesotans. We are going to keep standing up to fight cuts that will lead to fewer people getting the care they need & more people going hungry.
Graphic with the following quote from Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman: “Democrats and Republicans have starkly different visions for the future of our state, and that dynamic has been on display throughout the 2025 legislative session. “Despite our different visions and values, we managed to reach a bipartisan budget deal in which both sides compromised and did not get everything they wanted. If we were in charge, the budget deal would look a lot different, and it would do a lot more to lower the cost of living for hardworking Minnesotans. However, in times of divided government, people expect their elected leaders to work together, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. “I remain optimistic that the Legislature and Governor Walz can conclude our work in a timely manner during a short special session in the coming days, but that will only happen if we leave ideological battles to the side and focus on enacting a two-year state budget.”
Today the Minnesota House of Representatives adjourned the regular session and will return to the state Capitol for a special session soon to finalize work on a new state budget. Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman issued the following statement.
The House DFL is deeply saddened by the news of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
We’re all keeping the Biden family in our thoughts, and we’re wishing Joe a safe and swift recovery.
NEW: All session long, Republicans and their corporate backers fought tooth and nail to roll back the popular Paid Leave Law we passed in 2023.
We did not allow that to happen.
Democrats defeated *every single* GOP attempt to weaken, delay, or repeal Paid Family & Medical Leave.
"This budget is a reminder that even in times of deep division, it’s still possible to come together and do the work."
-Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman on today's bipartisan budget deal announcement
Thank you, @thedlcc.bsky.social! Proud to share this announcement. Looking forward to working closely with legislative leaders across the country and the rest of the Board of Directors to grow Democratic power in states across the country.
Fitting that during Teacher Appreciation Week, we learn that Minnesota’s graduation rates are at their highest level ever. There’s more work to do, but this is evidence that investing in our students, educators, and schools is working. www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...
Thank you to Minnesota's hard-working educators!

It was great to meet Vikings Head Coach — and 2024 Coach of the Year — Kevin O'Connell this week!
Unbelievable. Now Republicans are trying to take away unemployment benefits from hardworking hourly school workers and education support professionals who help our kids learn, grow, and thrive.
We're fighting back because we'll never stop fighting for workers.
BILL PASSED✅: 2025 Legacy Budget
While the Trump administration pulls back funding on the things we treasure, Minnesota is making generational investments in our outdoors, our people, and our future.
Our Legacy Budget Bill protects clean water, preserves natural spaces, and funds arts and culture.
BILL PASSED ✅: We just passed the 2025 Public Safety & Judiciary Budget!
DFLers worked to ensure this bill will make Minnesota safer, invest in victim services and police de-escalation training, and REJECT harmful GOP proposals targeting immigrants, protesters, and violence prevention resources.
BILL PASSED ✅: The House just passed the 2025-26 Agriculture Budget Bill.
We fought hard for a people-focused Ag Budget that feeds Minnesotans, safeguards workers and consumers, and supports small, emerging farmers in an economy tilted towards large corporations.
Thank you to @mccollum.house.gov, State Rep. Josiah Hill & everyone who participated in last night's town hall in Stillwater! We're bringing people together to stand up for our shared values & sound the alarm on how GOP policies at the federal level are hurting people across our state.
Tonight, I'll join Minnesota House Speaker Emirita @melissahortman.bsky.social and State Representative @josiahhill.bsky.social for a town hall in Stillwater. Tune in on YouTube at 6:30pm to watch live: www.youtube.com/live/cZEARh5...
This is the one planet we've got — House DFLers are working to protect it for future generations.
Yesterday was Mary Murphy Day in the Minnesota House of Representatives, and we took some time to honor and remember our friend and former colleague. Mary was a wonderful state representative and human being, and we miss her dearly.
Happy Easter from the House DFL!
Grateful for the ACLU’s legal work at this critical moment. We are a nation where the rule of law matters. Everyone is entitled to due process.

Gutting Medicaid would be devastating for MN seniors, children, families & people with disabilities & would create a massive hole in our state budget. Instead of GOP plans to cut Medicaid & give tax cuts to the wealthy, DFLers want to build a future where everyone has the chance to succeed.
Agree with Friedman’s analysis. Trump is damaging our country at breakneck speed. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/15/o...
