Mind you we weren't shocked by the fact racism existed there, we were shocked by the specific details of the lives of Creole people on the island. Racism exists everywhere but each place has its own nuances. I want justice for the Creole people of Mauritius.
As a Louisiana Creole it's always been fascinating to see how shockingly similar Mauritian Creole is to Louisiana Creole. It made me want to visit but theres a dark side to Mauritius that me & my fellow Louisiana Creoles were also a lil shocked by.
