Fun fact: The βfamily sizeβ box of Triscuits could also be labelled βteenage boy sizeβ, if you need to convert units.
Me too. Iβm tired. Does it feel early? Late? I donβt know - just wrong. This cat made me chuckle so it isnβt all bad!
Held accountable.
Strangely enough, vaccines have been proven safe. OF COURSE coffee chains arenβt selling health food, but if weβre going to let measles run rampant, I want my Timmies. (No Dunkin Donuts in my town, but far too many cases of measles in π¨π¦ too.)
Iβm old enough to remember the Mike Harris commercial showing a student moving from 1 board to another, and his new school was on the same page of the textbook. Can you imagine? Sorry kids, I know we need to review that concept before we move on, but the government says weβre on Ch 3 today!
Letβs say I want to teach a high school English novel study. If the Minister wants to specify the theme, or that it absolutely must contain a particular literary device, big deal. I still want to be able to choose novels that I can get excited about, and that are culturally relevant to my students!
Also, the line about βprescribingβ and βenforcingβ the curriculum sounds ominous. Current curriculum documents could certainly use more ready-to-use resources to accompany them, but how is the same βprovidedβ lesson relevant and appropriate for all? π§΅
My board publishes report cards on Edsby (password protected parent and student accounts). If you want a paper copy, you can ask for it. Saves paper π€·ββοΈ but I wonder how many parents are not able to access them?

Itβs not too often I solve in 3!
My Mom can confirm. She always found it odd that a Grade 1/2 teacher had to quit (1970) when she βbegan to showβ, when so many of the students had pregnant mothers at home!
She worked hard as a stay-at-home Mom, and returned as a supply teacher in the mid-80s.
At the time, I thought βBasket of deplorablesβ was a bit harsh and unfair. Turns out she was right. And for those claiming they were duped: βFool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!β
And, to quote AC/DCβ¦ βDirty deedsβ¦ done dirt cheapβ.
Sometimes the initial price is cult-like loyalty, which seems cheap at first. The costs include: skyrocketing grocery bills, environmental destruction, human dignity and lives, democracyβ¦.
Always check for the hidden costs!
And whose pocket do you think it will end up in?
Cats cannot finish novelsβ¦. They keep sitting on the page they should be working on.
Iβm worried that beyond denying women )and anyone else who has legally changed their name) the right to vote, ICE thugs will be intimidating all (non-MAGA) citizens in line to vote. Remember when Trump hinted youβd never have to vote again? I sure hope Iβm wrongβ¦. β€οΈ a concerned π¨π¦ neighbour.
Thatβs beside the point. While I applaud your choice (and a womanβs right to choose, on any issue), this is disenfranchisement, following the Project 2025 playbook. These bastards want βthe man of the houseβ to vote on behalf of himself and his wife. Gross.

Of course Iβm not advocating for educators to ditch the Kevlar. We need more training, more mental health supports, more early intervention, more autism services, smaller classesβ¦. The list (and the underfunding) goes on!
Kevlar doesnβt protect staff from the mental and emotional toll of being bitten or hit regularly. It doesnβt protect classmates from the trauma of being evacuated from the classroom while itβs happening. Kevlar doesnβt protect the dignity of the dysregulated child. βΉοΈ
Real officers of the law donβt wear masks. In fact, they wear name tags and carry badges with ID. They even hand out a business card or spell their name for you, if you ask. Pardoned insurrectionists who are acting outside the law are in disguise because they know they are destroying your country.
π¨π¦ teacher here, wearing blue to support MN students. Schools should be a safe place for kids. ICE needs to go. So sad for my πΊπΈ neighbours. Save democracy now! Stop funding ICE! Stay strong, Resistance!
π―I thought the 1500 troops were to provoke an excuse to declare martial law with the Insurrection Act, but the ICE goons are already doing that. Hmmmmβ¦ civil war and an invasion of Greenland, so soon after becoming pirates and kidnappers in Venezuela. π€¬
I was taught to eschew obfuscation!
Snow by inches, falling falling,
In fact, the forecast says itβs squalling -
Canβt even see the traffic light.
Will this continue overnight?
Tomorrow will the buses go?
Or will the roads be full of snow?
Four days before exams begin,
Time to hand assignments in!
I wonder if Mark Carney's expert understanding of the US Bond Market might be the most powerful weapon of all in the NATO alliance?
