Some have disappointed, some have bad policy, some made big mistakes. But I’ve never in my life been ashamed of American leaders. Until today.

Trump thinks he humiliated Zelensky. He humiliated the United States of America. And he made the world a much more dangerous place. Mob boss foreign policy will not work. The Trump-Putin axis fully came out of the closet today.

Our allies just witnessed Vance and Trump beating up Zelensky in service of Putin. They realize that US is no longer a trusted ally but a potential enemy. They will unify to protect themselves. We will be further isolated.

Part of the lesson here is that Trumpists, like many bullies, don’t handle it well if you stand up to them rather than caving. If Trump or Vance or their supporters had any character this petulant display and Zelenskyy’s defiance would be humiliating to them.
