Political violence has no place in our country. It not only is an heinous attack but breeds fear and undermines our democracy. My heart is broken for their families, their colleagues and so many of my fellow elected officials across the country. 💔

Every day Rep. Hortman and Sen. Hoffman were public servants - and they are also real people. They are a mom, a dad, a daughter, a son, a friend, a neighbor.
Today I protested. And yet at the same time I was showing up & continuing to use my voice, State Rep. Melissa Hortman & her husband, Mark died & State Sen. John Hoffman & his wife Yvette were undergoing life saving surgery because of a politically-motivated shooter on their doorsteps.
