Periodic gentle reminder that Liking a Bluesky post doesn't raise its visibility. You need to repost
Also here to say that my own Bluesky experience has been hugely enhanced by hitting the bell and plus sign icon on other people's profiles and choosing to be notified re their posts and/or replies
βNobody in Ireland should be exposed to hate speech, bullying, or child sexual abuse images on X just to find out if their train is delayedβ

A detail cropping of the previous image, focused more on the illustration itself of the couple embracing while sheets of rain or wind fall around them; they are ornately dressed in blues with yellow accents.
Today is the Eve of St Agnes π
How better to celebrate than revisiting one of Harry Clarkeβs strikingly blue watercolour studies that he made in preparation for his The Eve of St. Agnes Window (1924), inspired by John Keatsβ poem.

Presumably also available via a VPN?
Anyone who wants to mount their high horse and gallop around proclaiming that their leaving Twitter risks it becoming an echo chamber for racists, misogynists and paedophiles, should be invited to cite examples of where their posts resulted in people renouncing their racism, misogyny or paedophilia.
Maybe it's because we were "down the country" π (Meath)
My granny had one too - until they got a fridge, which lasted about 35 years. My parent's house also had a pantry under the stairs, with a slatted window open to the outside (presumably to keep it cool). House was build c1950.
Happy Christmas Shawn π₯
Yep - job offer. Multiple calls.
These two stories are somehow connected. Apparently, if you lobby tirelessly for more pollution & ecological wreckage, thatβs exactly what you get.
Don't forget to inform your insurance company. Given what you've said, she will probably try to claim from your company π
Meanwhile in Spain - intercity trains were travelling at 250-300 kph when I last used them. Long way to go here :-)

βIf they were alive, all 10 would certainly salute this gifted writer who has done so much to restore women to our lopsided historical narrative.β
Thank you to Clodagh Finn for such a brilliant piece on Nicola Pierceβs newest title.

Speaking to reporters in Lismore, Co Waterford, Mr Martin said: "People shouldn't share their location data. "I think one of the issues is when people are downloading apps or generally speaking, they don't read all the terms and conditions, and they tend to bypass those."
Quite spectacular victim blaming from the Taoiseach when asked about the clearly illegal large scale commercial abuse of mobile phone location data. Reflective of institutional cluelessness about privacy throughout the Irish state.

Also the punchline of a *very* old Gerry Adams joke.
Lucky that Tony Connelly is generally so good
Mine too (though there's some tough competition) - welcome to the gallery (Monday volunteer).
Happy Birthday, Harry Clarke... our documentary on his masterpiece, The Geneva Window, is linked here (along with more detailed clips exploring each panel). Thanks to @oireachtasnews.bsky.social & @CoimisiΓΊn na MeΓ‘n Digital First initiative. www.oireachtas.ie/en/oireachta...
Haven't seen anything yet - seems to be going very slowly
Meanwhile - enjoying the Edinburgh ones here in @nationalgalleryirl.bsky.social
Artist Harry Clarke is portrayed wearing a blue dressing gown and muffler. He is gazing into the middle distance with a sad expression.
This is the anniversary of the death of much loved Irish stained glass artist and illustrator Harry Clarke. This unfinished portrait was made by his wife Margaret when she visited him in a TB sanatorium in Davos.
Lot of it about - get well soon
So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/
