Also my local Green Party attracted my membership long before Zack's leadership because they have been tireless on local water issues and also unwavering in support for Palestine. Zack's just taken it up a gear and letting everyone know.

Our tiny independent business just had a Β£400 water bill for a *quarter* and the town we live in that relies on tourism has sewage in the sea. Do I care what Zack Polanski did 10 years ago or do I care that he wants to nationalise an actual shit show?

Interestingly, their speed also made them decent minesweepers of fixed minefields. But for slightly stupid reasons:

They moved so fast through the water at full speed that it would cause enough water turbulence to make the mines get tangled on their cables and explode.

High risk/high reward!

Yup. Absolute speed demons.

So they'd use the same trick to run supplies to Tobruk etc.

Idea was that by the time Axis planes/ships realized they weren't actually Vichy French, HMS Manxman or HMS Welshman (her sister that got the same glow-up) would be well away.

As mines are in the news:

Meet HMS Manxman. Spent a chunk of 1941/1942 laying mines off Italy in WW2.

Why wasn't she sunk?

Looked like a Vichy destroyer if you squinted. So they did a "paint me like one of your French girls" on her.

Extra funnel. Fake bow.

SAVE America Act Designed to Doom Americans β€” Assigned A nasty piece of legislation that failed to pass last year has been reborn, nastier than before, and the president really wants it to pass.

The President of the United States wants to sweeten a voter suppression bill with a bit of that sweet, sweet trans genocide.

@alyssaur.bsky.social takes on the SAVE act, this morning on Assigned Media.

You could put Thatcher strangling a miner on there and they'd just complain it wasn't big enough.

The proposed measures would affect, at best, 2 percent of all court cases. TWO PERCENT.

The reason we have criminal case backlogs is the last government closed OVER HALF OF ALL COURTS in England and Wales and slashed police numbers by over 20,000.

It's not rocket science.

This is a shocking report. Staff at food banks have told GMB that some users are now so desperate, they're ripping open food parcels to eat as soon as they get them.

In the last year, Trussell has distributed more than 2.5 million emergency packages

Reaching net zero by 2050 β€˜cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK.

Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy.

Side note: Media outlets that refused to cave to Pentagon press rules have been coming up with scoop after scoop from military sources. So much for Hegseth’s attempt to strangle journalism
