Yeah, we always had evangelicals—including my public school choir teacher in junior high!—telling Mormons we weren't Christian because we believed in a "different Jesus" (whoever that would be) or because we didn't accept Jesus as our personal Savior (insisting that we did made no difference).
Right? Just another example of how Mormonism in the Intermountain West and outside it (aka "the mission field") are very different cultures. 🤷♀️
