Index case was a pregnant woman (in third trimester), who came to Bulape General Reference Hospital on 20 August with fever, bleeding, bloody diarrhea. She died on August 25.
Then two health care workers, who first had contact with her, developed symptoms...
#Fieldepi training has set me up for a wonderful and varied career at the forefront of global health security.
At the same time I get to lead exciting research collaborations and projects focused on developing our abilities to detect and respond to infectious diseases in a time of conflict, climate change, and overall change.
I get to teach both our students in Cambridge as well as field epidemiologists across Europe and further afield.
My research focuses on epidemic and pandemic risks in a destabilised world. In my current job, I do research, build partnerships and bridges between researchers and practitioners, work on exciting research translation and capacity building projects and so much more.
