An interview the PM gave back while he was in Japan just emerged. Diplomacy Cake mentioned!

It's a big world, and you only live once.
There's not much in the USA that's worth dying in an ICE camp over.

White supremacist Trump supporters holding "Mass Deportation Now!" signs during the election campaign.
These people must never be forgiven.
If we're spitballing here, I say we keep the constitutional monarchy, but ditch the British Crown and elevate the Land of Canada Itself to be our ceremonial Head of State, with the Governor General to be appointed by the Assembly of First Nations.
Instead of crown land, the land becomes the crown.
I'm really coming around on that Canadian nuclear deterrent idea.
FROM is the first show I ever worked on as an actor that I also really enjoy as a viewer. Beyond stoked for season 4!
Frame from the season 4 trailer of FROM, showing Julie, Ethan, and Tabitha looking worried in the foreground, and a bearded guy in the background (who is me).
At first I thought I didn't make it into the trailer this year (fair enough!) but on rewatch, your boy can officially be spotted at :02 of that video.
Getting to do background work on FROM has seriously been so much fun. Amazing group of people. I think folks are really going to enjoy season 4!
Arts and Culture adds $989 million to the provinceโs GDP and accounts for more than 14,000 jobs, employing more people than farming, fishing and forestry combined.
FROM season 4 trailer just dropped! Can't wait for this show to be back. April 19!

Good work, Nova Scotians, but it's not done yet! Keep the pressure up until all of the Houston Cuts have been rescinded.
On the bright side, if gas prices keep going up, I might be able to bust out my best Stan Rogers meme again:
This is why I think a Lewis NDP would be a dead-end. Both Poilievre and Lewis are disruptor-coded, but there is currently no appetite for that in Canada. As long as Carney continues to present himself as the stability candidate, and doesn't pointlessly piss-off the Left, he's got this thing on lock.
Different situations obvi, but here in Canada, the governing party went from historically unpopular to electoral juggernaut, partly thanks to Trumps threats to annex us. And that's *without* the US having blown up a school full of our kids.
Nothing motivates nationalism quite like US imperialism.
It's called the Donut Economyโ we all just trade around the US, until they sort their shit out.
Lewis is presenting himself as a Zohran/Polanski figure, but he just....isn't? He doesn't really have the charisma or appeal of those guys. And Mark Carney isn't Starmer, or Cuomo.
Running as a disruptor works when voters hate the status quo. Polls keep showing that Canadians are craving stability.
Like, what sitting NDP MP would give up their seat for Lewis? I doubt any, even the ones who endorsed him. The leader won't be selected in time for the April byelections either, so that's out.
NDP leadership voting is open as of yesterday. I'm not really invested in the outcome, but I will say that if the party wants to survive; picking a leader with no seat (and with no real chance of winning a seat) is a curious move.
If I was voting, I'd probably go with @heathermcpherson.bsky.social.
the straits are at it again.
I think the biggest argument in favour of AI consciousness is the fact that Teslas keep trying to destroy themselves, and take their drivers with them.
Get their asses.
Have you checked out Strip Law yet? It scratches the 90s animation itch in a very satisfying way.
It's normal to restrict or move away from treatments when evidence of harms starts to outweigh evidence of benefits.
It's not normal to restrict or move away from treatments when there is evidence of benefits and none of harms, even if the evidence of benefits is "low quality."
Once the Carney Libs successfully made "Canada" their brand, the Conservatives really got boxed-in as the "anti-Canada" party, huh? That's the sort of stink that doesn't wash off. They are fundamentally more aligned with MAGA neofascism than Canadian multicultural democracy, and people know it.
The CBC only alluded to the maple syrup in their write-up, but Bloomberg is reporting that the Diplomacy Cake "had Canadian maple mascarpone cream, a Japanese cherry blossom (sakura) sponge cake, and Canadian cranberry syrup."
Found a clip of the Diplomacy Cake!
(Complete with PM Carney singing Happy Birthday to PM Takaichi)
