I stayed with friends about half an hour's drive from Chania. Orchids everywhere!!! I'm sure there are experts who could direct you to particularly good areas.

We're saying hello to Sand Martins, our next #SpringArrivalSpotlight!
Gracing our skies from early March, they nest in colonies in sandy banks & cliff-sides.
Did you know? Their burrows can be up to a metre long!
Spot their distinctive swirling flight & short, forked tail.
Iβve started to add some decoration to my three new items, currently working in the fox brooch β¦ stitching a few dandelions along the βpathwayβ.
Turned a stone at Aberthaw & came across 2 beautiful limestone-loving Lapidary snails Helicigona lapicida. The Vale of Glamorgan limestone walls are also wonderful for lichens - I'm going to learn some this year with the help of this highly recommended new book @britishlichensociety.org.uk

A Song Thrush perched on a thin garden branch, its creamy chest marked with bold dark arrow-shaped spots. The bird looks alert, head tilted slightly upward, showing a slender yellow-based bill and a large glossy eye catching the light. Warm brown feathers cover its back and wings, while small red berry stems and green leaves frame the scene. The background is softly blurred green foliage, making the thrush stand out sharply in the sunlight. πΏπ¦
Good morning, todayβs #BirdOfTheDay theme is #SongBirds any songbird and the alternative is #PerfectlyPerched any bird perched. Iβve went with a Song Thrush. Wishing you all good luck and a great day ahead. #birds #photography #ECK

Crow's nest
Really excited to have found these Ordoviciam trilobites in the Anti-Atlas, Morocco.
One is extremely tiny, but both specimens preserve clear eye detail, which always makes a find special. The small one may be a juvenile calymenid-type trilobite.

Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"

Susan B Anthony
The contributions of Susan B. Anthony, an abolitionist and Quaker, are immeasurable. She was an American civil rights leader who fought for the rights of the enslaved African Americans and of women who had no rights. Without her, there would have been no womenβs movement.
