Are you kidding?
WHY? ππππππ
"Heritage"...AGAIN,
Who's Heritage, I Ask...??
Scoop: DHS ousted multiple privacy officers at CBP after they questioned orders to purposely mislabel records about government surveillance to prevent their release under FOIA.
Itβs not too late for states and Congress to stop Trump from subverting the midterms. I recently explained three things states can do and four things Congress should insist on in order to protect the 2026 midterm elections. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/its-...
Happy International Women's Day! βπ
Studies consistently show that countries with proportional voting systems tend to have more women's representation in their parliaments.
We spoke to three brilliant campaigners, representing three generations of women, about why they support PR π
"Ultimately voting systems should exist to reflect the will of the people. If they do not, is it rule of the people or rule by the system?"
Great letter in the Guardian by Hugo, a campaigner with Young Make Votes Matter πππ
"Many people vote all their lives without electing anyone."
Great to see this in the Islington Tribune!
"Britainβs voting system encourages the belief that complex social conflicts can be settled not by compromise, but by conquest."
Completely right. It's never been more clear that no one party can speak for the whole country.
That's why we need PR π
Difficult times call for cooperation and dialogue. But our voting system keeps giving total power to parties that only a fraction of voters support.
On 30% of the vote, one party could win full control of our economy, health, foreign policy and defence.
We can't take that risk.
Better to be legless than headless, you brainless wonder

No one should be forced out of their home and denied the legally necessary resources to find a safe and affordable place to live.
I like the way some countries have Crisis of Confidence procedures that automatically trigger a vote for new government. WE NEED THAT HERE! We'll never be safe from GOP majority in government.
Who would have guessed that the legal system in America was so fragile that a single crazy president could ignore the whole thing, from the Constitution right down to state laws?
Why does the Supreme Court and Congress let this demented moron act like the dictator of a banana republic?
To be expected

Trump is rolling back sanctions on Russia so they can sell their oil, because of course he is.
BREAKING: Four people arrested as part of counter-terrorism investigation relating to Iran - Met police
Police arrested one Iranian & three dual Brit-Iranian nationals on suspicion of assisting foreign intel service.
Investigation relates to suspected surveillance of Jewish communities in London.
Ooops
If Trump tried to make life worse for Americans he couldnβt do any better .

Basically all of the bad economic news this term is because the president deliberately decided to do something moronic. He is much more personally responsible for this than most presidents are for the downturns in their administration.
Their guy said he'd pardon the J6 insurrectionists--and then shockingly did it.
I haven't heard any potential Democratic candidate promise to pardon everybody arrested for protesting ICE.
That'd go a long way toward showing me they're opposition and not just controlled.
To be fair - and I try - there is a hostile element involved, at least in UK
Just thinking about what we could do with a billion dollars a day that doesnβt include bombing people.
Labour just announced energy price cap dropped.
Oil just spiked, completely undoing that.
Given 50% of UK energy is from renewables, now is the time to renationalise and drop the dumbass marginal price system that makes green energy needlessly as expensive as gas.
