A man in a blue hoody faces a poster in a shopping centre that reads “Join World and (plane emoji) get rewarded (heart emoji present emoji) just for being (emoji of a stick figure with arms out) human”
A banner in shopping mall reads “free workouts with your new ClassPass membership with a verified WorldID” a man in black clothes sits on a wooden box facing away from the camera
The man in the blue hoodie gazes towards a large Orb device
The highs and lows of shopping malls; went down to Wandsworth and spotted that Orb has the gall to try and get UK folks to rat themselves out by giving up their biometrics to Sam Altman and a16z’s blockchain for pennies in reward points. Good luck with how much the UK public dislikes digital IDs.

"Our trans siblings deserve our support and encouragement, endorsement and vindication now more than ever as the rising tide of transphobia threatens to engulf not just trans people but everybody who associates with them."
Stephen Fry in a video message for Transmission
I know some disagree but someone like Stephen Fry changing his mind and doing a complete 180 after supporting She Who Must Not Be Named, is a good thing and is evidence that attitudes are changing.

‘Drinking from a fetid pond’: superbug-creating genes found in UK’s largest lake
Exclusive: Lough Neagh, which supplies drinking water for 40% of NI, contains genes resistant to last-resort antibiotics
Superbugs resistant to antibiotics are rising fast. I tested water at Lough Neagh (40% of Northern Ireland’s drinking water) & found high levels of antibiotic-resistant genes from human & livestock poo. If we treat waterways like sewers, this is what we get. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Lots of photos of Zack Polanski speaking at Transmission, and full credit to him, but here's @eddavey.libdems.org.uk and I chatting on the stage at Wembley, before the concert began.

The thing about this is (1) Hegseth manages to look bad regardless, and (2) even if he didn't, turning these things into clown shows means fewer people are going to bother with it, so it's less effective as propaganda.
The "neutral" press *help* competent administrations get their message out.

Murdering random Jews in response to Israeli state violence is violent antisemitism. It shouldn't be necessary to state that. And yet

I know how much a PhD costs.
Why the fuck would someone spend that much if they're not learning anything?
What's the point? Do AI enthusiasts not understand that this entire idea invalidates the notion of higher education? Why would I trust someone who used AI to get through school to do anything?

It's somewhat heartening, that after a decade plus of highly funded anti trans campaigning, they're still a pretty small minority of bigots

A very good and extremely cool article about professional scold and embarrasment Katharinee Birbalsingh by Séamas J. O'Reilly which you can read in its entirety at the following link, but which has here been printed out and presented to a 15 year old girl who now thinks I am "cool".

It's finally happened. One of my nieces or nephews has had to offer analysis on one of my articles for her GCSE mocks.

The parents in the study were interested in the toy's potential to teach language and communication skills.
However, their children frequently struggled to converse with it. Gabbo didn't hear their interruptions, talked over them, could not differentiate between child and adult voices and responded awkwardly to declarations of affection.
When one five-year-old said, "I love you," to the toy, it replied: "As a friendly reminder, please ensure interactions adhere to the guidelines provided. Let me know how you would like to proceed."
This is so tragic it's actually incredibly funny

As I am fond of saying, Britain leads the world in offshore wind power and for god's sake the govt need to do 2 things. One is to run ads saying Windmills Are Beautiful And Look At All This Power That They Make For Us, and the second is force the electricity companies to lower bills drastically
