As if all of the ~gestures broadly at everything~ wasn't enough, there are moisture issues in my attic, to the point of water spots forming on the ceiling. Major roof and moisture remediation was not the home renovation I was hoping for this year.
I'm not connected to many fly people, but I'm glad to see the community offering help -- my organisms have always been able to be thrown in a -80 for another day, fly strains will be lost if not actively maintained, another way funding losses can demolish scientific progress 💔
Hoping to start being more active on here, I definitely need a place that delivers less psychological damage to doomscroll than LinkedIn does

As an academic I sometimes forget this but every once in a while it becomes painfully clear that the vast majority of the people shouting in the press about academia don’t even have a passing familiarity with actual academia
