A touch frustrating that I find myself skeptical of any music I find on Youtube that is recent these days. Unless it's from a band I've known for a while, I'm pretty prone to assuming it's probably GenAI in some way. And it really sucks that I'm at that stage in the first place.

I would like to know as well, because the moment I get that sorted I can obliterate the Windows side of my computer without issue lol

A local dumpling store had GenAI logo and picture on the side of the restaurant for quite some time. It looks like just recently they took it down and replaced it with single color background and comic sans text saying “dumplings” lol

One thing that I always love seeing is characters/ designs inspired by a misinterpretation. Seeing a really shrunken down image of something only to see something entirely different is neat!

Gamer lights are always funny because they're cool for like... the first week. Then you turn them off for a while, something changes in Windows and suddenly they're back on and they're cool again for a bit.

I wonder if they'd be cooler as a pulsing single color light....

Fortunately, as of current, gaming is probably the easiest it's ever been on Linux. Games with kernel-level anticheat don't work, but everything else does fine. It may end up having more app support soon for art programs given how many seem to be switching, but Krita works for now at least

While it still isn't my daily driver due to some of my art programs not quite working on Linux right now, but I cannot understate just how much better the experience had been on Linux beyond that for me. It just needs some audio tweaks (default mixing is kinda flat) and better app support

On one hand, I hope this is the case. On the other hand... I think I'd rather Linux just get to be more user friendly so we can have the freedom we used to have on our devices.

I somewhat hope there can be ways to make some things like driver installation and whatnot to be as easy as Windows.

For the most part, I'd probably recommend Linux Mint or Fedora on KDE if you need pointers? Both are pretty easy options for Windows refugees trying to minimize their console usage. Even if *you* specifically already use Linux, someone may find this information useful

If you're trying to get in and you have a spare laptop, test run a distro on there for a few months to figure out what you like. If you're not as certain about *what* distro to run, I strongly recommend trying out DistroSea on your browser to get a good feel for the basics.

It feels weird especially because that means I have to acknowledge that Vista, an OS that was maybe a bit too advanced for the time it released (and mildly unfinished), is still an improvement over modern Windows.

Vista wasn't terrible, but it definitely had some clear flaws.
