Every time I write a critique of the New York Time's coverage of transgender people, people always tell me, "submit a letter to the editor."
I have, multiple times.
I don't think people understand how averse the NYT is to publishing a trans person.
It's almost frustrating that people ask me to.

The Corporate Miscreants Driving the Affordability Crisis
These 20 firms all have something in common: Their CEOs get paid millions, their workers are being pushed onto public assistance, and voters are fed up with them.
Brian Niccol of Starbucks took home the award for the most nonsensical disparity between CEO and employee income: He earns $95,801,676, while the median salary for a Starbucks employee was a mere $14,674. trib.al/EOv81eF

A grape vineyard where a worker is cutting back the shoots the vine doesnβt need.
"Paz" sent this from where she's working in the grapes. "First I cut back the shoots the vine doesnβt need, then I tie the remaining ones together. When I'm tying them, they can snap back and hit me in the face. This hurts a lot. I work 8 hrs/day at min. wage." #WeFeedYou

i wonder about people forming newsletter/blog collectives where they edit each other and get work out into the world together, not for the purposes of building a business, but for the purposes of doing good work, keeping the tools sharp, and speaking needed words into the world

it feels like a small thing in context of all of the other things but it is a piece of the larger authoritarian project that there are fewer places to publish essays now and the carefully edited essay as a public form for thinking and responding and criticizing and analyzing is in trouble, i think

CBS obtained video of the DHS killing of an unarmed man in Texas that DHS concealed for nearly a year, which clearly contradicts claims that he violently rammed anyone. He is shot with his brake lights on, car not moving or barely moving. Another DHS crime.
