Read Former Honduran President’s Letter to Trump
The New York Times has obtained the four-page letter that former President Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras sent President Trump.
Read the letter from Juan Hernández, ex president of Honduras and convicted drug kingpin, to Trump, requesting a pardon. The well-crafted letter shows how easily T can be manipulated. Obviously the letter was written by his attorney or others supporting Hernández. It played into T’s weaknesses.

I shake my head when seeing that Juan Orlando Hernández, former president of Honduras and convicted drug kingpin, was pardoned by Trump. T orders blowing up boats with people inside who his cohorts suspect of drug smuggling—all without proof. What hypocrisy! Impeach and convict T.

The anti-socialism resolution “…denounces socialism in all its forms…” As I understand it, democratic socialism is a form of socialism. “Congress denounces socialism in all its forms, and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States. www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/...

How do you know? Mamdani won NYC by a convincing margin. Half! Where did that come from? What studies or polls? If the 1/2 is a guesstimate, what is your guess based on?

Words matter. Instead of “radical” in the quote below, why not “moderate” or even “different”?
From the Guardian today,
“… the US and Ukraine said they had created an ‘updated … peace framework’ to end the war with Russia, hours after European countries proposed their own radical alternative ….”

ALERT RED HERRING&REDEFINITION ATTACKS
K. Leavitt’s attack on Mamdani as a communist is a red herring argument involving redefinition of “democratic socialist” to “communist”. Personal attacks and redefinitions are forms of distortion of truth and lying. Call out these fallacies. Hold to truth.

Hegseth Is Purging Military Leaders With Little Explanation
Could it be that Hegseth has fired nine or more top military leaders because he knows they will refuse to follow illegal and unconstitutional orders issued by Trump and him? Is Hegseth clearing the way to use the US military against Americas who protest Trump’s illegal acts?

He’s living in his own universe of billionaires and magagrants. He has no idea about the universe we, the others, inhabit. That is, we who want a fair deal for all, respect the law, want no one to be hungry or lack quality medical care, and who buy their own groceries and know what’s up.

The NYT in an editorial today rated 12 of Trump’s authoritarian traits on a scale of democracy to authoritarianism. Thus NYT presumes degrees of authoritarianism. So when the military quells free speech, the NYT says it’s 25% authoritarian. No it’s 100%. NYT then diverts attention from the danger.

On Sat 10/18, I saw 2 Border Patrol agents in full battle gear rush across DC’s Union Station. I thought sarcastically someone had been reported speaking Spanish. I didn’t know how true my thought was. A 10/27 NYT editorial stated “Some Latinos are now afraid to speak Spanish…” Oppressive fear!🙁

Quote Origin: If I Had More Time, I Would Have Written a Shorter Letter – Quote Investigator®
Blaise Pascal? John Locke? Benjamin Franklin? Henry David Thoreau? Cicero? Woodrow Wilson?
Writing posts on Bluesky forces me to reject this view of Blaise Pascal:
“If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.”
Yes, Blaise Pascal. This quote has been attributed to Mark Twain, GB Shaw, Voltaire, Goethe, Churchill, Cicero, Bill Clinton & Benjamin Franklin.

How Politics Is Changing the Way History Is Taught
History lessons are being wiped from the internet, and California is retreating from ethnic studies, as education swings away from curriculums that are seen as too progressive.
Calif. retreated from its cutting-edge ethnic studies allowing some school districts to eliminate these popular programs altogether. W/ Project 2025 pressure, ed. adm. at all levels are exhibiting a failure of nerve to defend general ed & critical thinking programs. nyti.ms/47K1hUU

Publishers of history, civics, social studies & other human-centered curricula have altered their materials under ultra-right political pressures. Also several major publishers have withdrawn books & educational materials from the market. nyti.ms/47K1hUU

Bernie Sanders spoke @ the end. Walking back to Union Station w/ other protesters, I felt the excitement like I was leaving a college football game for my car. Along the way back the excitement diminished, 5 police at each corner, and National Guard troops and Border Patrol agents at Union Station.

I became uncomfortable seeing these people on the roof. I thought about leaving but help my ground. I thought they were there to protect. But a 50 caliber sniper bullet going into a crowd could cause much “collateral damage,” ie to protesters. Fortunately nothing violent happened. All was at peace.

From what I’ve seen about how ICE agents handle demonstrators & suspected “illegal” immigrants, the agents could use anger management
training. Better yet, they should be booted for excessive violence and violating Constitutional rights against searches & seizures, arresting w/out warrants, etc.

At the No Kings protest in DC, I stood on the side of Pennsylvania Ave facing the National Gallery of Art. I looked up to the highest roof on the gallery building. I counted 5 people overlooking the crowd with binoculars and two stationed near 2 sniper rifles on stands.

“Following a public outcry,” that’s what it takes for blind people to get the services they need including all government services that were formed from compassionate values. We are missing so much compassion in this country. We need as a country to learn again to live from the heart.
