Although it sounds somewhat sad, the fact is that those stories were read, and enjoyed (hopefully), and even if largely forgotten still form *some* part of your lived experience. And it helped fund that artist to go make something that *will* stick in your mind.

I do see how technically the magic X-Factor of OG Tenchi's "What if Urusei Yatsura but we also took the scifi-fantasy setting more seriously" can end up in "Hours of animated characters sitting around talking about Dynastic Family Arrangements", but it's still a real whiplash to experience.
