One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.
On the other hand, people living in poverty have to navigate so much more in the real world every single day than other people so this guy can eat a big bag of shut the hell up.
Quite amazing the way Leavitt lectures the press and insists they should be "grateful" to the Trump government. She also says media should be grateful to the armed forces, but she leads with the "administration" then quickly catches herself and switches to the troops.

Update: Mamdou Ndoye tells me from detention that Nick Shirley, himself, pointed at him during the Canal Street raids and urged ICE to detain him.

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
