A knitted fabric in white and moss green, ribbed stripes going up and vertical olin squares
Keeping on with my knitting journal. Finally, after almost 1 year with the Kniterate, I tried out Icelandic wool in it! I was convinced it would not work, but this beautiful mix of einband and fjallalopi have proofed me wrong <3
Today’s sample on the Kniterate, so interesting to see abstract thoughts of patterns transform into real fabric!
Finally had a good day with my knitting machine, working on something new for upcoming Design March in Reykjavik 🪱
New colors of the Woolen neck snood! Some colors will not be restocked and I just made one off 👀 Wish I had endless colors of yarn 🧶
En fallegt!!
Youtube is always a great source to learn and see the machines in action, and there is a machineknitting subreddit where people are very helpful! It’s good to know what you will mainly be using the machine for before choosing the type since their strengths varies for different techniques.
I do love working on the old brother machines though, but you will need to be a bit handy, confident and creative about fixing and maintaining them!
This is a good question! Silverreed and brother work the same, just like most domestic knitting machines. I’ve never used a Silverreed myself, I can see it being better in the long run since it’s the only manufacturer that is still making machines so maintaining them and buying extra parts is easier
Sample of the day, 2+ hours of programming, I’m not impressed

Happy to try out a new platform to share what’s up in Ýrúrarí’s world. The sky in Iceland is very blue today, fitting for a first post on bluesky!
