I'd like start a feed to discuss Pharo Smalltalk (pharo.org)
I've been working with Pharo since its inception from Squeak in 2008.
I'm new to Bluesky, so if i commit a faux pas, please let me know.
I suggest you take a look at Pharo (pharo.org) all of your interoperability issues can be solved there as well as the complexity issues burdening windows, Mac os and linux. Proof that some old ideas never die, their power is overlooked.
I understand your pain. If you are interested here is a "new" actually very old way to desktop code that is wholly portable across Macos, windows, linux and even raspberry pie!!! check out pharo.org
