Yes - there are a lot more in zoos with cooperative breeding programs. Hopefully they will be able to reintroduce them to safe wild places in the future where they can be re-established. My references for this painting was from the Oglebay Zoo in Wheeling, WV. His expression said so much. ❤️

Thanks Hank! Yeah, it's a floater idea that my framer thought up for miniatures. Takes a simple wood frame molding that has at least 1" height of a regular frame & flipping it on its side, so the lip/rabbet width becomes the face of the frame & the painting sits on the rabbet depth.
