The original plan was to keep them all to continue obsessively monitoring the line but uh. I may have some very sweet, healthy rats available in the St. Louis area soon. I will be very strict about new homes.

I have been constantly sick and trying not to pass germs onto the rats, so sorry for a huge lack of posts. But all ratties are doing well, we're expecting babies soon from our two healthiest and friendliest rats, and Arlene is now over 3 years and 1 month old!

In two weeks, Arlene will be 3 years old! She's helped raise babies, helped care for scared rescue rats, and has outlived so many.
Her legs don't work as well as they used to, but she still zooms around and bullies her grandbabies when they get annoying.

Everyone, including his brothers, tried so hard to save him, but in the end Boone's little body was just dealing with too much.
RIP, sweet boy
Boone got liver damage and some other issues from the antibiotics he was given for his lungs. He's not doing well at all. Another vet appointment tomorrow.

I actually love their tails! The little scaly skin is interesting, and it's so cute when they wrap them around things to keep their balance.

It did seem to start up right when the weather changed. But ugh. These boys have never had issues before. Thinking we might have brought some germs home from somewhere. They're currently going back and forth on being ok and breathing very fast.
Allll of my male rats very suddenly got very sick. Has anyone who happens to see this dealt with viruses in rats before? They didn't react to antibiotics at first but a nebulizer seems to be helping. Vet appointment soon.

My scrunkly little old man is gone. He was having heart problems and made it very clear that he was ready to go.
He had health issues all of his life but managed to make it to 2 years and 9 months.

Tried to play a lyre for the rats. Haven't played in awhile, couldn't remember any songs. I've never felt so judged by a rat.
