I wonder what the Venn diagram is between "Linux nerds that still are butthurt about systemd" and "Linux nerds that tell you it is actually GNU or GNU/Linux not Linux.

Choose an open source license Non-judgmental guidance on choosing a license for your open source project

It is also OSI approved and on choosealicense.com (I submitted that PR)

Frustratingly printables also doesn't (or at least didn't) allow the CERN Open Hardware Licence as an option.
This means OpenFlexure derivatives on there are hared with the wrong license๐Ÿ˜ก

It's nice to have a cake and to eat it.

So nice to finally meet Gerrit in 3D after so long talking through a screen. I hope you enjoyed FOSDEM as much as I did.

We've just moved the @openflexure.bsky.social handbook from LaTeX to @typst.app.

As a huge LaTeX fan for many years, Typst really is the dream. It's LaTeX, but less 1980s. Cleaner syntax, better scripting. Still a few things to perfect, but what a great tool.

I think we maybe able to fix some of it in software by turning off the motors after a move. But also limiting the current does seem sensible, but may become problematic as we start to switch gear ratios for X/Y speed

Awesome! I really like the anti-vibration hammock. We may need to make a version of this for the core project. I have talked to one group who pour concrete into a special base compartment!

I also am very interested in the motor current issues.

I've thought about it for a non-contact flood level sensor connected to something like LoRa so we can send data while the power is off. No idea how well it would work

Our bulky transformer always takes up kitchen bench room. Size of a toaster, pretty annoying, but it runs a very nice coffee machine that will last a lifetime.
We have a cast iron press, but not a heated one. I'll put it on the list of things we don't have space for ๐Ÿ˜ข

Looks great. We have some assembly tooling in the OpenFlexure project for exploded assemblies. Would love to know if they are useful to others.

If RepRap had originally used this license, you would never have been granted the freedom to build upon it and start your business.

Not being open source any more is sad. However, creating licenses that are not open source, but claim to be is detrimental to the community you left behind.

Did you send it down the drain? Perhaps it is the cure for a fat berg?

Did you find something dirty to cleanse in the concentrated washing soup?

Luckily my kitchen is already a mess! A guy at my local has bees, and makes the best honey. So it seems wrong not to try this!

I have an email offering me the position as editor in chief of a scammy-non-journal.

Am I more important than when the same crowd used to ask me to publish?

Are they more desperate?

"... terrified its backbenchers would demand permanent nationalisation, which ministers have ruled out. The Treasuryโ€™s strong preference is for a โ€œmarket-ledโ€ solution"

There is no market without competition. Call it what it is:
"Private-monopoly-led". Does this sound good?

Really excited by this. I have a graveyard of too-unreliable-to-use, too-nearly-working-to-throw-away printers.

A printer I can easily repair is a dream ๐Ÿ˜ป

Not sure I'd want the flag, but maybe a print of Farage holding said flag in front of a vandalised mini roundabout [insert/replace with a witty idea by someone with more imagination than me].

Thinking about it, not sure where one hangs a print with Farage๐Ÿคฎ? With the bog roll maybe?

Urg, I get loads of emoji emails from certain people. I didn't know what program they were using, now I do. What an anti-feature.
