This is so gorgeous! Absolutely love the way you captured that moment.

Iβm ALWAYS looking for more lady knight books!
Itβs grey and rainy, but the trees are starting to turn. Perfect Autumn day.
βThis isnβt the America I knowβ
Black People:
I hope itβs delicious! Iβm looking forward to some farm stand corn soon.
Osama has social media in Gaza that predates the war, many unique photos and is #146 on the Gaza Vetters list docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
Like most people in Gaza he wants to be able to support himself but he needs to be able to rebuild his office first. He really wants to restart his life β€οΈ
they think they can just erase trans joy and trans freedom. they can't. they can make things a lot harder and more painful. but that joy and that freedom is not theirs to take and it is incumbent on all good people to say so.
I LOVED the way the show expanded Guraβs character from the books, and this piece delves into all the reasons why.
Just finished a big road trip. Itβs surreal after having such a wonderful time and seeing so many beautiful things, being able to identify huge plumes of wildfire smoke from miles away on the last leg of the trip.
This is so sweet! β€οΈ
The boundaries bit!
I had a friend growing up whose parents were the βtake your door off if you misbehaveβ type. We fell out as adults when I posted some big news on FB that she found out through a mutual friend & went off on me about hiding things.
She missed a post & decided I did it on purposeβ¦
Which ones?? I am ALWAYS taking recommendations.
I am on HARD MODE waiting for the next one from the library! Not only is there a 13 week wait, but my holds are maxed out, so I canβt even get in line unless I cancel something else π
This was a very cute sapphic, cozy fantasy adventure!
Iβm a bit miffed at how abrupt the ending felt (I definitely lost track of how long Iβd been listening), but I guess it was effective because I immediately went, βwait what? No! I need more!β

HIGHLY recommend! Especially the audiobook, which Eddie reads.
My longer, but not particularly eloquent review here:

Catching up on last weekβs book reviews, and Iβd be remiss if I didnβt call out this one in particular.
I wanted to read at least one memoir for Disability Pride month, so I read βSipping Dom PΓ©rignon Through a Strawβ by Eddie Ndopu.

(And yes, I will probably be preordering the audiobook as well because if thereβs one thing I love, itβs an audio-hardcover nonfiction pairing.)
Iβve been sitting on a Bookshop gift card from Christmas, and right as I was getting antsy about using it before I forgot, what do I see?
This book sounds INCREDIBLE, and I am so excited to have it to look forward to next year.
Hey if folks could stop adding addendums 30 seconds after I submit a bid proposal, thatβd be super cool.
What a sobering fact.
This book made me SOB (complimentary). I loved it so much β€οΈ
We have not had free and fair elections in this country. We have always had some people who had to vote on extremely hard mode in some places of this country.
Expecting people to wait in line 9 hours *is* a form of poll tax.
I keep seeing people say things like, βWell weβre not going to HAVE elections,β and with all due respect, I think this is both wildly pessimistic and also wildly naive.
We are not going to have free and fair elections. We also have not had them in the past.
Finally caught up on my book reviews. Iβve read over 100 books so far this year, which is cool or whatever I guess, but MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY I have written (sometimes short) (often useless) reviews for every. single. one!
THAT is my true accomplishment.
I donβt have any money to spare right now, but Iβm hoping what little reach I have might land in front of someone who does.

In a historic policy change, California is moving to pay incarcerated firefighters the federal minimum wage during active fires. That effort took on a new urgency after hundreds of incarcerated firefighters were deployed to battle LA's deadly wildfires cal.news/3GkRz0A

Get some Biscoff Cookie Butter to go with them, if you want to really indulge.
Iβm sorry I didnβt see your message sooner; I am not online much. What you are going through is unimaginable, and I have shared what I can in the hope it can help a little.
A screenshot of Libbyβs audiobook player displaying The Poisons We Drink by Bethany Baptiste. The player shows the current position at 59%. The cover features a young Black woman with pink hair in a blue tank top surrounded by pink smoke, overlayed with the title.
Missed this yesterday, but Iβm trying to finish up The Poisons We Drink by Bethany Baptiste before my library loan is up.
Iβve gotten into vinyl as a hobby that gets me to slow down & be present. It takes deliberate effort (albeit minor) to start & flip a record, I canβt easily skip any songs, + the act of listening to one damages it so even while my ear may not be able to discern, each listen is unique.
Small joys β€οΈ
