Happy 29th anniversary to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
This show is very important to our podcast -- so many of the best ever high-concept episodes of TV are just episodes of Buffy. We've covered the Buffyverse directly multiple times at gimmickspodcast.com!
Thanks! I have never owned a non-plain controller before. It feels so whimsical!
Got myself a little holiday present
Sending good vibes, snuggles, and energy your way. π
Two or three days a week, but that's a design with me and my trainer made specific to my body, my needs, and my goals. Usual activity only on those days. I was really lucky to find someone who had the right expertise for me.
Happy MAR10 day! May every hop you make today bring you closer to your goals. π€
You can enjoy dinner, but someone else gets to decide if you come. π
Making dinner tonight for my husband and his boyfriend. I'm into being cookolded.
Will the whimsy prove too much for our hero? Listen and discover!
Get in loser, we're going shopping!
The latest SUPER MARIO MOMENT is starting soon, where we discuss the time the Super Mario Bros 3 cartoon featured Milli Vanilli weeks before their implosion.
We chat about their rise and fall, the changes in DiC's Mario universe and why the Koopalings... are like that.

One hour to go...
btw about that pixar thing, the reason why these people think having a conversation about gay people with kids is difficult is because they don't know a way to say to their kid "gay people are normal but you are not allowed to be one" without sounding like a bigot (there is a reason for that)
devising a new social media platform where you get three energy to spend every turn, posts can attack or defend, and the goal of the platform is slightly more obviously about defeating other commenters than here
In the end, I played as Verso. It matches my own views on how I think about my art after I die, but it didn't make it any less heartbreaking.
Fuck yes.
I finished Expedition 33 and loved it. I donβt know how to explain this otherwise but there was a moment of clarity where it felt like I Saw the TV Glow in video game form.
Mine specialty is making bacon to order so I'll happily give yours a little more time in the pan. I understand the love for a good crunch!
There remains an outlier (a big financial industry!) where a company just continues to refuse to update my married name - 16 years and several requests later! It's such a shock to log in and be welcomed by my maiden (or is it bachelor?) name.
Hey, I made bacon this morning, you want some?
The finale of the Wizard famously features a climatic battle between the forces of good and evil via the playing of the then-unreleased-in-the-West Super Mario Bros. 3. But something about the chirpy Grasslands theme doesn't quite sell EPIC FINALE.
We discuss in our latest ep: youtu.be/BAxnvWtnxVg
Itβs 1:47 am. πππ
I went to a showing of Hoppers last night. I didnβt 100% follow the story (my Spanish is *not* good enough) but it was a big impact regardless and seeing it in a packed theatre was huge. Today I followed up with this podcast and it not only fills in the gaps but brought back all the feels.
Why yes, this near constant din started at noon and will continue through midnight πππ
All that stands between be and a churro is as marching band procession playing Copacabana.
BRB. Flew too close to the sun. Being punished for my hubris.
Also? Sit, Ubu, sit! Good dog.
It's so funny that you might know about this episode but not the absolutely bonkers premise of the sitcom DAY BY DAY it was featured on (the first aired sitcom that #JuliaLouisDreyfus appears in!). Was it a good premise? (No!)
Pinkish Purple border with the text: GIMMICKS DAY BY DAY "A Very Brady Episode" Along with a screencap from that episode, a bright blue background with a grid of squares that features the Brady Bunch with Christopher Daniel Barnes looking confused in the cetner square
You've likely never heard of Day by Day, a short-lived sitcom that once had Christopher Daniel Barnes cross into The Brady Bunch reality... years before he's cast as Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie!
@scifiexplosion.bsky.social joins us for this postmodern Brady send-up at gimmickspodcast.com.
