Good on you for holding her hand and charging her phone. You can’t always fix everything for everyone. But you fixed a small
tiny bit of it and that is something

A week today is the tenth and biggest Bradford Digital event, at Bradford Live, the redeveloped ex-Odeon cinema in the city centre. Looking forward to see where this all goes next. (And glad I can support the event - and the city I moved to just over 30 years ago.) www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

I see the traditions of Easter are holding strong.

(Mixed feelings about this, although on balance I do really want to try one.)

The Costa hot cross bun with mature cheese, bacon and chilli jam.

Oh god that actually looks… good

From the research I've seen and done, it seems to me most people don't think about joined-up govt or joined-up public services till they are either driven mad by disorganised back-end systems or horrified by an abuse of power. But ppl who work in govt think about joined-up services all the time.

AI β€œused to make mistakes” like Cormac McCarthy does… πŸ™„

I’m not sure this is the killer point NYT thinks it is

Describing Cormac McCarthy’s writing style as β€œa mistake” πŸ™„

Anyway, keep doing really annoying PowerPoints with lots of bullet points, as inconsistently as possible to keep your job.

Very interesting. I can see immediate barrier being whether people trust the calculator with access to their banking info. Lots certainly wouldn’t trust a DWP one with that.

Our walking tour isn't about fame or nostalgia. It’s a walk about what The Beatles learned, and how those lessons shaped their music, their ambitions, and the foundations of the modern music industry. 5 April. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

God I hadn’t even looked that closely at the map. Like… WTF???

Oh Ian…

Luckily long-term her delusions became very benign. In many ways it was better. Although bedbound in her mind she had shopping trips to New York, saw Paul McCartney at Glastonbury, regularly visited her best friend in Cambridge. β€œGosh that sounds fun” was best response.

When speaking to person describing delusional beliefs, listen without interrupting or dismissing their experiences. Instead of immediately correcting them, say something calm and neutral like:

β€œThat must be very frightening for you.”'

For example, when she was repeatedly worried how she would get home from France, rather than telling her she was at home in England, I learned to reassure her that I would find her passport and had travel plans all in hand.

Thank you for highlighting this. When my mother had delirium correcting her only increased her distress. I slowly learned to offer reassurance instead, even if that meant going along with the delusion.

Also if simply dividing vertically should we be correcting for a truer North/South axis???

04.03.2026 12:52 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Some sort of complicated surface area calculation is needed

04.03.2026 12:51 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Tho I fear we’re all missing @robmanuel.b3ta.com’s point which was IF you divide the country into THIRDS then the Midlands is this big area…

04.03.2026 12:28 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

The Midlands line needs to sit just below Sheffield really

Moving is good! Moving is better than not moving. If it hurts on the floor maybe give yourself a break and go back to doing them in bed. Bed Pilates better than no Pilates.

Don’t compare yourself to long past Sarah. Compare yourself to 1 month ago Sarah. Or 6 months ago Sarah. You got this!!

Similarly I think design tokens not Design Tokens unless it’s in the title

Lowercase surely? It’s just a normal word/noun not the name of a person or company.
