The Calamity happened towards the end of Itzha's time at the Studium; after hearing the news, she resolved to make that her first destination upon completing her studies.

Which is exactly how ARR starts for her; a fresh-faced medic, arriving in troubled Ul'dah and looking to mend her wounds.
