Even the devil would spit this out.
cannot stress enough that "separate the art from the artist" was meant for private individuals reconciling the art they love with its flawed creators and not meant for the ceo of a company driving a dump truck of money up to a bigot's front porch

"Hi, I work for fartboner. Fuck. Fartboner. Fuck. Fartboner. Fuck. I work for Fartbo-"
I do not have a point here other than that this was really, really funny.
…it reminds me of a museum-piece deranged article I read last year, whose opinion was “criticising processed foods is a carnist conspiracy to demonise vegans because they made you feel bad for eating animals”. Just beautiful.
Seen a bit of “ultra processed food” discourse today, and since my main opinion on UPFs is that the louder the screaming, the more likely it is to be classism in a Scooby Doo mask, I’m going to almost sit this one out.
Almost, because (character limit)…
Ooh. Interesting. Corporate personhood (lol) meets threshold behaviour.
Accountability is (or certainly can be) emotionally uncomfortable, but I do wonder if as a generation we’re unusually averse to it.
I’m really starting to think there’s something in a nihilism-as-permission-framework analysis of the (presumably in this case mostly) Millennial psyche, amplified by that raised-in-diet-culture sense that “guilty” and “pleasure” cancel through, at least for social performance.
It’s the heartwarming story of a whole community coming together to order more than three pints of a light mild in a single evening.
(It’s bad, albeit in a gently endearing way)
Went to see Mother’s Pride on impulse, and kudos to the producer who realised they could trick middle aged men into watching a Hallmark movie by making it about real ale.
Also they bang on about the Labour Party being more Methodist than Marx.
Ok. Fucking be that, then.

I know I’ve got some Labour local gov’t types following me, so I want to say this clearly so that you can share it internally as appropriate: I will never again vote Labour while these policies, or Wes Streeting, are in place. I will not vote Labour at any level because of this.
imagine being the guy who directed that opening sequence gutpunch of Up (2009) and now being too chickenshit to have a gay character, imagine directing Soul (2020) even as you stare in the mirror every morning trying to remember what a "soul" actually is
wait so there’s a major oil crisis and they’re gonna fly seven reps to meet each other so they can diplomatically avoid saying that one of them caused this whole ass crisis single-handedly?
because that could be an email
I dunno. It’s like campaigning mainly for people who hit 35 or so, see that the world around them doesn’t match the one their parents told them to expect, and then rather than thinking “cool, let’s understand this and maybe adapt a bit”, scream SOMETHING MUST BE DONE and go looking for a manager.
btw about that pixar thing, the reason why these people think having a conversation about gay people with kids is difficult is because they don't know a way to say to their kid "gay people are normal but you are not allowed to be one" without sounding like a bigot (there is a reason for that)
Endlessly building an electoral approach around not getting laughed at in the flat roof pub they’ve imagined.
He harks back to something cutesy and family-oriented, which always makes me nervous. I do get the sense that Labour would quite like to campaign on “Keir Starmer will make your kids put their bloody phones down and stick to the gender you gave them”
Trying to figure out which Star Trek characters are most likely to have been in the Epstein files and right now the three frontrunners are Gul Dukat, Liquidator Brunt, and Neelix
This is so odd. If his vision of blue Labour is as staunchly against rowing back social progress as the third paragraph claims, then what exactly is its much vaunted social conservatism for? What actually are these values? The piece is a vibes-forward symphony of meaning-shaped meaninglessness.

You might not know who Country Joe Mcdonald is, but he wrote one of the greatest anti-war songs of all time. It's about Vietnam, but applies to a lot of America's military misadventures.
