Our team at #EMBLCanGen in Heidelberg!
Raquel Blanco gave a brilliant talk, and we had great poster presentations from Elisabet Figuerola, Olivia Dove, Ferran MuiΓ±os, Rocio Chamorro, and Axel Rosendahl. π
Thanks to @events.embl.org for organizing such a high-quality event in Cancer Genomics!
Delighted and honored to have hosted the 3rd PROMINENT Retreat in Barcelona.
The @cancergrand.bsky.social project led by Allan Balmain, Paul Brennan and Nuria Lopez-Bigas, is progressing thanks to the excellent science being performed by all the teams. Great meeting and best participants!

New research from team PROMINENT (@nlbigas.bsky.social), published in @nature.com, uncovers clues why men face a higher risk of bladder cancer and reveals that tobacco smoke acts as a promoter, not an initiator, in bladder cancer development.

To better treat cancer, we need to understand its underlying biology. Despite decades of research, some fundamental questions remain unanswered. One is why certain key tumor suppressor or oncogenes lead to cancer predominantly in single tissue: e.g. Rb in the retina, or APC in the colon 1/n π§ͺ
Back after a few days in Lisbon for the annual #EACR2025 conference! Inspiring and great science. Glad for the opportunity to present our work, coming home with a bunch of new ideas! @bbglab.bsky.social @ferriol.bsky.social
Our colleagues Olivia Dove, Raquel Blanco and Ferriol Calvet are attending the #EACR2025. They are sharing their research results with their respective posters and are for sure learning a lot in an excellent Congress with an outstanding list of speakers. @ferriol.bsky.social @raquelbmi.bsky.social
Today is the start of #EACR2025! Weβre excited to welcome a record number of participants from 66 countries to our Annual Congress here in Lisbon. Find the programme at 2025.eacr.org and donβt forget to use the hashtag!
