Awesome!
Awesome!
I wonder what it's like when your biggest problem in life is that Lupita Nyong'o is playing Helen of Troy.
Oh, and you get a Steam achievement if you pet the cat 13 times. Of course, you can keep petting the cat after that; I certainly do.
One of the first things I've discovered when playing Civilization VI is that scouts can pet their dogs. Nice! One of the first things I've discovered when playing Strange Horticulture is that the note about the cat is not there for no reason, you can pet the cat, and the cat purrs. Pattern? πΈ
And that was kind of awesome.
The game I played most during the holidays was Tavern Master. A medieval tavern management game, simple yet addictive. And then a fellow author (who works in the gaming industry now) told me that the studio that made it, Untitled Studio, is from our country. And that he's met them and they're cool.
The shortest month is hardly light on new releases, with new titles from Matt Dinniman, Nnedi Okorafor, Edward Ashton, Stephen Graham Jones, and many more.

Last night I've finished Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, and lol. What a ride. Highly entertaining, especially if you're a writer, or work in the publishing industry. Okay, considering the portrayal of the publishing industry, perhaps not everyone working there would find it as fun as I did.
Rehabilitator Chris Thomison holds on his lap a GHOW with brilliant yellow eyes. The vanilla towel is wrapped like a cloak, with one corner folded at the middle like a half collar. The owl's plumicorns are erect, brow is furrowed, and upper eyelids are lowered about 30%, giving an overall look of immense scorn. He is plotting the demise of all involved.
A Great Horned Owl at Owl Ridge Raptor Center, Tennessee posted with the caption "Someone did not want to take their medicine and therefore, must be placed in the burrito of towel. He was thrilled." Want to donate to ORRC? owlridge.org/ways-to-donate Source: fb.com/101623875111... #owlsintowels ππ¦
Recently read Hamlet, Prince of Robots by @darusha.ca. I saw scenes and acts, expected a gimmick, and got something that's so much more. Fun. Clever. Touching. Playful. Loved it. Plus it was awesome to read another non-binary author.

The covers of six books - QUEEN OF FURY depicts a woman in armor with red hair and a crown on ornate green background; QUEEN OF NONE depicts a blonde woman holding a sword on a blue background; NETHERFORD HALL features a Tudor style home and two women in Regency dress on a purple background with teal and pink accents; THESE MARVELOUS BEASTS features fantastical animals on a black background, plus some skulls and flowers; both PILGRIM and GODS feature flights of birds -- one a raven, a dove, and a pelican; the other an owl, an albatross, and a rook.
New folks! I thought I'd share a quick graphic of my available fantasy books.
QUEEN OF NONE & QUEEN OF FURY - feminist, queer, Arthurian retelling (trilogy)
NETHERFORD HALL - Sapphic Pride & Prejudice w/witches (trilogy)
PILGRIM OF THE SKY & GODS OF LONDINIUM - queer mythpunk duology
Goodreads was acquired by Amazon in 2013, which basically means itβs owned by Jeff Bezos.
The subtle lesson? You canβt get away from them without turning yourself into a hermit.
Make choices based on your needs, not their moves. Do your best to look out for yourself and others. Live your life.
Some genuinely terrible people whining about the "block culture" here on Bluesky is how you know the block culture is working, keep blocking those genuinely terrible people, folks, soon the only people they'll be able to bother here is each other

I used to joke that most of my short fiction was about food, death or family- this one is actually my story that's about all three. I still love it very much.
Read "Boiled Bones and Black Eggs" for free at Beneath Ceaseless Skies!

I've noticed that reading my horoscope tends to make me upset, even though I know that it's just random words that can't possibly apply to everyone within that sign. So now I avoid reading it.
Get your books (and ebooks) from indie presses! At this rate pretty soon they'll be the only place to get beautiful words written by humans for humans
A story: Raccoons: Hint Fiction. Genetically altered raccoons - thrown-out pets, probably - wished me a Happy New Year. We shared the trash. We even found half a cake.
Happy New Year...
Hey, I've got tickets for the same show, too!
