Hands-on learning helps us connect material culture to the people who create it. In ANTH 340 Maya, Aztec, and Inka taught by Dr. Rachel Horowitz, students used cochineal insects to recreate a vibrant red dye that was widely used across the Americas before European contact and is still used today.
