It made me happy to be doing what I’m doing, even though times are tough and the work is tough.

It feels like there’s nowhere to really say this online anymore, but I’m asking students to write a kinda difficult thing in my comp classes, and I looked at several drafts today that were a) incredibly thoughtful and ambitious, and b) almost certainly the products of students’ own writing to learn.
