Again, leaders of other countries don’t talk this way. The glee with which our current leaders talk about killing people is not normal, and nor is their lack of concern for who exactly we’re killing. American bombs incinerated 100 kids in Minab. Were those the β€œright people”?

Journalists and pundits keep saying that the public is getting less concerned about climate change while cutting their coverage of the accelerating crisis. Perhaps there is some linkage here?

Yes we can no we didn’t Those who cannot learn from past failures are condemned to repeat them (apologies to Santayana)

North America is losing birds fast. Experts blame agriculture, warming A new study finds North American bird populations keep dropping, and that decline is accelerating for many species.

Billions fewer birds are flying through North American skies than decades ago and their numbers are shrinking ever faster, mostly due to the combination of intensive agriculture and warming temperatures.

This court specifically avoided bringing up challenges on bans for gender affirming care for trans youth on parental rights grounds so they can weaponize parental rights against trans youth while stripping them from the supportive parents of trans youth. It's obscene.

Another contrastβ€”this time, between this case and United States v. Skrmetti, 605 U. S. 495 (2025)β€”is also striking. In Skrmetti, several parents challenged Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors. The suit raised claims grounded in both equal protection and substantive due process. As to the latter, the parents in Skrmetti, similarly to the parents here, asserted a right β€œto make decisions concerning medical care for their minor children.” Pet. for Cert., O. T. 2023, No. 23–466, p. 34; see id., at 18 (invoking a β€œright of parents with respect to the care, custody, and control of their children, including in decisions about medical care”). And in support of that right, the Skrmetti parents relied on the same precedents the Court does today: Parham, 442 U. S. 584, and Pierce, 268 U. S. 510. See Pet. for Cert., No. 23–466, at 34–36; ante, at 5–6. But the Court, when deciding to grant certiorari in Skrmetti, limited its review to the equal protection issue: It would not even hear the parents out on their substantive due process claim.

This footnote in the Kagan dissent specifically calls out the double standard of quickly jumping to defend the rights of transphobic parents while ignoring the parental rights of trans youth seeking access to gender affirming care in Skrmetti.

Media Matters analyzed a year of NYT coverage of anti-trans bills and found that 66% of the time the paper didn't quote a trans person. Further, it found that the paper often quoted right wing sources without mentioning their histories of anti-trans rhetoric.
So "right-wing rag" is pretty accurate.
