Also don't overdo it, but also don't be afraid to use tilt. Sometimes I look at something for a long time and it never looks interesting enough no matter how I move the camera around.
And then I'll just tilt the camera a bit and it all falls into place.
Watch a simple 2mins tutorial on the basics of photography just to understand concepts like rule of thirds or what a telephoto lens is.
Goes a long way to improve framing and composition to understand these simple things.
