There's definitely an open question right now about how much the advancements in technology should affect the valuation levels investors consider reasonable for the market overall
Good bets become bad bets when they become popular bets.
Applies to:
renting vs. owning
quality businesses vs. cigar butts
blitzscaling vs. profitability for Startups & VCs
Right now:
Owning real estate is over-hyped
Buying quality businesses is over-hyped
Profitability is over-hyped by NYC VCs
Even more true today than it was when I wrote it.
Kind of insane that crypto prices are down way more than retail stocks, considering that retail stocks are directly affected by the tariffs and cryptocurrencies aren't.
In other words:
Beginner: I just want my code to work
Intermediate: I want my code to tell me if it fails
Advanced: I want to prevent failures in the future
Expert: I just want the error messages to be at least a little understandable

- Learning what makes a good idea vs. bad
- Learning how to build software
- Building our software
cs finance is now a registered LLC!
I've had a lot of startup ideas before, but this is the first one I've ever formed a business entity for officially.
Why wait until now to do it?
Because it's fun.

That's one of the reasons I got into entrepreneurship in the first place, and I clicked back into that other gear and now I'm having a blast writing this post for tomorrow before I run out to the post office in the rain and run back to make a dozen phone calls before places close up.
But then I remembered: Wait, I love being busy.
One of the cool things about figuring out what you want to do and then doing it is that as it gets hard, you start to rediscover all of the things about yourself that drew you to it in the first place.
Like at first when I started getting really busy the last couple weeks, I was very stressed out.
Things are getting busy.
Lately, my business has gone from a marathon of despair to a sprint of trying to keep up.
But there's a silver lining:
Calling up newspapers to do the publication requirement for our LLC (We do crypto apis).
