So are journalist finally going to call this for what it is - ethnic cleansing.
Or are they still going to do everything in their power to minimize what is happening.
I can't even imagine the trauma that this whole family is going through.
Deporting kids for petty arguments with their siblings is cruel & evil / has absolutely nothing to do with public safety.

Yeah this is the first step to full blown concentration camps.
But hey atleast Mayor Bowser is going to get her damn football field.
People are straight up going to die because of these policies. But hey at least the Dems are writing strongly worded threads & having lunch meetings about it.
Stop with the business as usual bs. And start fighting back.
The key point here is "we will not obey." We need more of that from state officials. We need refusal from everyone who the administration will rely upon to work its will in the world, from governors to teachers, social workers, doctors, and other everyday people in the streets. Refusal is essential.
Thinking of all the Black & Brown people across the country suffering in jail on ABPO & Resisting Arrest charges for the littlest of things (often reacting to over aggressive policing)
Meanwhile these folks literally storm the Capitol & trample over cops and are all getting out.
100%. It's infuriating. So much harm has come and will continue to come because they refused to listen to those critiques for a decade & instead chose to vilify and isolate those making them / use it as a fundraising tool.
It pisses me the f*ck off that some of the same people who said Trump would destroy democracy sat in the rotunda smiling while he took the oath. What message does that send? Yeah, this should tell you all you need to know.
It will be easy to fall into a pattern of dunking & reacting in these times. Performing disapproval can be a consuming pastime & it is not enough. Refuse to abandon vulnerable people. Build a rebellious culture of care. If you need help, @prisonculture.bsky.social and I wrote a book to assist you.
DC weather has fought back more than the entire Democratic party ππ
If you want to contribute or volunteer, please give to local mutual aid groups. Those are the people/groups that are on the ground, know the community, and will be there long after the media attention moves on.
Not only will this legislation lead to unconscionable harm to families and communities... it also will do nothing to improve public safety and is way more expensive than idk ensuring people's basic needs are met (which actually would improve public safety).
Hundreds of incarcerated people risk their lives every year to protect their community from deadly wildfires.
Instead of thanking them, they continue to be locked up and even those who are released aren't ever given a real chance to be fully free. #CaliforniaWildFires
