It was "cadet captain" of supplies or something. It was just a role at the high school. It's like a hall monitor, not anything like an actual rank.

This is one of the best political communications I've ever seen and it made me miss zines and niche magazines and weird little newspapers that were everywhere in the 90s.

Do we know when this was recorded? I figured he'd just been told about the refueling planes crashing into each other or something. Or being told he had to announce the Russian oil sales thing.

"Tight circle of close advisors" still manages to oversell the amount of advice he's getting. He's getting a lot of guys saying "yes" to every demented tantrum and wishful thinking scheme.

Ever since they put a pig heart in me people have been very cavalier in attributing my behaviour to the heart. I am enjoying bigger breakfast after a light dinner last night, not "giving into the pig".

The killing of schoolchildren should shock our conscience and cause us to recoil in horror.

A nation whose leaders can so easily shrug off the death of children, no matter the cause, is in need of moral repair.

There must be accountability and lessons learned from this tragedy. And we must never forget that Iranian children, too, are children of God.

Shouldn't be rare to see this said by a US senator

Still no censure of Tommy Tuberville, Randy Fine, or Andy Ogles, who are openly promoting hate against Muslims while the US is bombing Iran, killing the Ayatollah, and people like Lindsey Graham are calling it a "religious war" DURING RAMADAN.

How do you think this all ends, folks?

I don't think any of the career staff underestimated it, it was the Trump appointees, and who knows if they were just afraid of disagreeing with President Grandpa

I know this community very well. The Shenandoah club the Temple Israel statement refers to as providing food and shelter during this attack is the club established by Iraqi Chaldeans. This is really beautiful interfaith solidarity in action.

The U.S. should not be bombing Iran. The U.S. should not have bombed Iran in the first place. The U.S. certainly should not continue bombing Iran.

If your idea of a "big tent" means slaughtering school girls... no, thanks. Anyone who votes to give a single cent to continue it should be primaried.

And "affordability" often means "accessibility" which itself often means there are payment plans available wherein the end cost of the $50 widget becomes $70.

It may have been a refueling plane refueling another refueling plane, which is possible but I'm not sure why you'd do that there (I wouldn't know). But that's possible depending on the exact KC-135 model(s) involved.

I would be less surprised if that was the situation, it's that two USAF refueling planes on a mission together apparently ran into each other that surprises me.

CBS and CNN now both reporting this, and it seems impossible to manage to do that, but I guess they did.

WIRED named the DOGE operative accused here of planning to take Social Security data to his new job. It's John Solly, and he works for the government contractor Leidos, a company that has millions in contracts with SSA.

Some reporting indicates that the second aircraft was ALSO a KC-135, and that it landed in Israel after dumping fuel in the Mediterranean Sea. I don't understand how two refueling planes collided with each other, if that's what happened. They keep their distance from each other for obvious reasons.

Although some reporting and flight tracking indicate it may have been another refueling plane and I can't really come up with a scenario where two *refueling* planes collide with each other outside of a complete FUBAR.

It could have also been part of a broader classified mission where they don't want to divulge via reporting out the exact fighter/bombers being used.

Where was the FBI? This was a federal case, he'd just been in prison, and now he's running around with a gun attacking ROTC members? Kash Patel too busy with other stuff, I guess.

The AI people get to walk around and publicly brag about how much investment money they're taking out of the economy and vaporizing, all for the societal lead poisoning of cognitive debt, higher electric bills, and unaffordable computer components. It's intolerable.
