We’ve gone from global rail leader to a primitive laggard in a couple generations. It’s a choice to spend all our money on car infrastructure while our rail system decays. Let’s choose differently.

This International Working Women's Day, we stand with women across the world facing the violence of the US empire.

The US spends over a trillion dollars for on war and imperialism - and they use lies about women's rights to justify it.

We reject this imperial feminism!

Turkey Vultures: the ultimate spring bird When I think of spring birding, I think of one of North America's grossest and ugliest birds and one of our earliest spring migrants.

Hooray! The turkey vultures returned to our neighbourhood today. This is actually one of the surest signs of spring, since they’re one of the first species to compete their migration from the southern USA. They’re one of my favourite birds & such an important part of the ecosystem 🖤💀

Graphic for March 8th International Women’s Day. The Long Covid SOS logo appears at the top in awareness day colours. Beneath it, “March 8th International Women’s Day” in teal and underneath in a lighter teal shade “Women living with Long Covid and other invisible illnesses deserve to be heard, believed and supported”
“No more gaslighting” in orange italics.
At the bottom the image shows layered silhouettes of diverse women in profile, in different colours and hairstyles to represent solidarity and shared experience. A faint lifering motif from the Long Covid SOS logo forms the background. And at the bottom left text reads “#IWD2026”

Women are too often dismissed when it comes to their health told it’s “anxiety”, “your age” or “all tests are normal”

#LongCovid is following a pattern many women already know. Women living with Long Covid deserve to be heard, believed and supported.

Dear NEH Grantee,
This letter provides notice that the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is terminating your federal grant (Grant Application No. FEL29509824) effective April 3, 2025, in accordance with the termination clause in your Grant Agreement.
Your grant no longer effectuates the agency's needs and priorities and conditions of the Grant
Agreement and is subject to termination due to several reasonable causes, as outlined in 2CFR§200.340.
For instance, NEH has reasonable cause to terminate your grant in light of the fact that the NEH is repurposing its funding allocations in a new direction in furtherance of the President's agenda. The President's February 19, 2025 executive order mandates that the NEH eliminate all non-statutorily required activities and functions. See Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy, E.O. 14217 (Feb. 19, 2025). Your grant's immediate termination is necessary to safeguard the interests of the federal government, including its fiscal priorities. Any objections or appeals to this termination will be managed in strict accordance with the President's Executive Orders,

Last year, this guy (left) from DOGE used ChatGPT to find NEH grants that were too “DEI” for Trump, and canceled them, including mine, as shown by the letter I received last April (right). Huge new NYT article on the back story link below
