A walk in the desert makes art. I found a cat skull as a teen. 14 years later, a sketch becomes stained glass and wins an award. Fun times. (Attribution: Rick Rubin "...A universal way to send messages...") #StainedGlass #ArtProcess Art is sanctuary.

The war is despicable. Prices are high. Gas costs more. We have evil clowns in the WH.
Yet, we still have lives to live and dogs to love (and other pets too!) Miz Mia could really jump in her youth. On a different day she broke a canine tooth. All passion. All of the time. #dogs #GSD #rescue #TBT

If you’re wondering why Congress doesn’t do what Americans want it’s because Congress doesn’t represent America. It represents the Predator Class.

A black-and-white montage portrait of pioneering American virologist Charlotte Friend (1921–1987), who discovered the Friend leukemia virus and advanced understanding of retroviruses and cancer. The main image shows her in her laboratory, seated at a compound microscope in a research setting lined with shelves of scientific books and journals. She is a middle-aged woman with short, neatly styled dark hair, wearing round-framed eyeglasses, a pearl necklace, and a white lab coat over a patterned blouse with a floral collar. She smiles warmly and confidently at the camera, one hand resting near the microscope's stage, conveying dedication, intelligence, and approachability. In the lower right corner is a smaller inset close-up portrait of a younger Charlotte Friend, smiling brightly with softer features, short wavy hair, and a simple white blouse, highlighting her earlier career. The composition blends her professional lab environment with a personal archival photo, celebrating her groundbreaking contributions to virology, leukemia research, and women's roles in science during the mid-20th century. The overall mood is one of scholarly achievement, warmth, and historical significance.

Virologist Charlotte Friend (b. #OTD in 1921) proved viruses could cause cancer (1957) & revolutionized virology (& helped define modern retrovirology).

She later pioneered differentiation therapy, showing cancer cells could be "reverted" to health, defining a new path to treat cancer. #WomenInSTEM

My great uncle, Tom Johnson, invented the Celestron telescope so that his kids could view the stars. He'd be so happy to see how far the company has come and to see the Webb telescope discoveries.

Trump's "mind" is still in the 1970s and further back. We sold Phoenix missiles to Iran when we sold them F-14s in the '70s. I know bc I built a few at Hughes Aircraft. No confirmed kills. Used by the Navy as deterrents. Iran still has F-14s. Only a few allies have Tomahawks.

I sometimes wonder when the MAGA folk will realize that everything he promised was a lie. They entered opposite world, and now we all suffer.
Oh, they won't.

Elizabeth Warren: "I am a hard no on a supplemental. This is not a war the American people want us to engage in. This is not a war that makes us safer ... No. No more money. The only thing Congress has the power to do is to stop actions like this through the power of the purse."
