We have to lower costs for Michiganders, from housing to healthcare to groceries. That is my priority.

I’m proud to have earned the endorsement from Sheet Metal Workers Local 80! We’ve teamed up to repeal right-to-work, restore prevailing wage, and strengthen labor rights in Michigan. And we will continue to protect working families in Congress!
My legislative colleagues, Detroit City Councilmembers, and I heard from residents impacted by ICE’s cruelty: people trying to navigate the chaotic process to be reunited with family members who have been unjustly detained, stripped of their rights and due process, and placed in inhumane conditions.
The Trump administration must immediately report to Congress the background of these strikes and its future strategy, and most importantly, how it plans to protect the safety of Americans and servicemembers currently in the Middle East.
I came of age protesting a war led by a President who declared ‘Mission Accomplished’ too early, had no real plan to win the peace, and took a brutal toll on US servicemembers and civilians on the ground. And Donald Trump is even less prepared to lead military engagement in the Middle East.
The Iranian regime violently suppresses its own people and sponsors terrorism that is destabilizing the entire region, if not the world. A nuclear-armed Iran would pose a real existential threat.
But previous US intervention in the Middle East still casts a long shadow.
We know Donald Trump’s administration is reckless and has repeatedly put America at risk. The American people deserve assurances that the overnight US strikes will not lead to another forever war that accelerates the chaos and makes us less safe.
We do not want Southfield to be the home of ICE lawyers and administrators who are abusing our Constitution, undermining our rights, and breaching due process.
We rallied today with officials, clergy and residents to demand ICE Out of Southfield.
Our message is clear: We do not want ICE to terrorize Southfield, Oakland County, or the State of Michigan.

Michigan elections are fair, accessible and secure. The SAVE Act is a blatant attempt to suppress the vote. The US Senate must vote NO.
I’m proud of my role to reduce barriers to voting and increase access to the ballot in Michigan. In Congress, I will be a leading voice to protect voting rights.
There is a rot in ICE that cannot be repaired under Donald Trump and Kristi Noem.
To restore public trust, ICE must be dismantled and replaced by an interior agency with more rigorous training and standards, increased oversight and accountability, and safer outcomes for all.
