Thoughts on this years roster? Definitely missing some names that could have drawn in, Mark Scheifele looks like he might get a nod if someone gets injured.

Goalies:
- Adin Hill
- Jordan Binnington
- Sam Montembeault
Hill is the starter right now but I think him and Binnington will share the net. Montembeault being worst case scenario. Should have had Thomson, Kuemper, and/or Talbot on this team.
Defensive Pairing 3: Morrissey-Parayko
Almost feels unfair that Morrissey is a 3rd pairing guy with how elite he is at two-way play. He'll probably run a more pinch-heavy game where Parayko (99th percentile defensively via The Athletic) will be the stay at home guy.
Defensive Pairing 2: Theodore-Doughty
This pairing feels like the best ying-yang maybe in the entire tournament. It's going to come down to how fresh Doughty is coming back from injury but Theodore is an offensive specimen on pace for 71 points, Doughty is the ultimate experienced shutdown guy.
Defensive Pairing 1: Toews-Makar
It's the pairing that's won Colorado a Cup. Don't overthink it, a lot of speed, probably the pairing they put out there down by 1 with a minute left. Offense, defense, superstar, and Playoff pedigree.
Forward Line 4: Hagel-Cirelli-Bennett
This line is ridiculous and Canada absolutely wants these guys to wear down opposing teams. It might end up as a shutdown line for them with how strong Cirelli and Hagel are defensively. Bennett gets under their skin and it's wraps.
Forward Line 3: Jarvis-Point-Marchand
A LOT of speed with Jarvis and Point but I could also see this being a line that feasts on weaker competition. Let Point enter the zone (one of the very best at this), Jarvis and Marchand forechecking. Konecny could draw in here after returning from sickness.
Forward Line 2: Stone-Crosby-MacKinnon
This feels like a set up for Mackinnon to get as many breakaways as possible. Stone and Crosby are still elite defensively and Mackinnon loves to "hunt" from the defensive end. Add in Crosby/Mackinnon's chemistry and this is a match made in heaven.
Team Canada lines and what we think they're trying to get out of them:
Forward Line 1: Reinhart-McDavid-Marner
McDavid/Marner are excellent playmakers and Reinhart is one of the best finishers in hockey. Cycle with Reinhart in front.
Canucks defense today:
Forbort-Myers
Soucy-Juulsen
Brannstrom-Desharnais
The first game Hughes has missed since October 2022.
Connor Bedard at the World Juniors:
14 games
โ 13 goals
โ 31 points
โ all-time Team Canada leader for goals and points
He was eligible to make the roster this season but was too busy being a #1 center in the NHL.
Hey everyone, we're still trying to figure out how we should manage using both Bluesky and X. Would you guys be more open to having unique content here or just a copy-paste of the X account?
Should we try anything different here? Are there any new features we could take advantage of? Thanks!
J.J. Peterka this season:
14 games
โ 7 goals
โ 14 points
โ +5
โ 2nd on the Sabres in points
โ 57.44 xGF% at 5v5 (2nd on Sabres)
He's been a definitive first liner for Buffalo this season.
