@californiapuc.bsky.social should never have let gas utilities propose pumping hydrogen into gas pipelines in the first place. Its a costly ineffectual boondoggle that distracts focus from helping communities realize the health and safety benefits of electrification.

Over a dozen cities in CA have passed building codes to help ensure central ACs get replaced with heat pumps. This is one of the simplest ways to replace gas heating in homes. The heat pump uses wiring and capacity from old AC to now provide both heating and cooling. More of this in 2026!

And @californiapuc.bsky.social just issued a proposed "phase-out" of gas incentives that keeps the wildfire rebuild loophole as well as many other gas rebates. Now is the time for the PUC to change course. Help make that happen by following directions in Hilary's story to comment in docket!

Making plug-in window heat pumps and induction stoves affordable and available at big box stores is key to ensuring everyone can benefit from electrification. 🔌💡

This is an excellent thread that largely tracks my own experience from my time at the Club (granted, I left right before Jealous started). There is just no scenario where attempting to reckon with the organization's history and build a more inclusive vision of environmentalism was the problem.
