also square enix definitely see the sales difference between automata and replicant ver 1.22 and think “we want automata sequel” especially since the last whole new nier game was a gacha that wasn’t as successful and profitable as other gacha games

i’m starting to think that an automata sequel is going to be the next nier game with A2 as the primary main character, one cause of this anniversary art and also because of the changes made to the automata anime (particularly with accord being near A2 at the end)
